Students who were represented in the Kashmiri class action lawsuit have started to receive checks with their share of the damages. Some students who have received checks have had questions about how their amount was determined. Others have not yet received their checks and have asked about their status, whether their correct address information is on file, etc.
Students with questions about the settlement are encouraged to visit the Web site established by the plaintiffs’ attorneys, who are responsible for settling students’ claims. The website can be found at:
The University played no role in determining the amount that individual students received. We also have no role in the actual distribution of checks to students.
