Financial Aid for Summer Sessions

SUMMER SESSION FINANCIAL AID 2008

Limited Summer Financial Aid funds are available for UC Davis undergraduates who filed a 2007-2008 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and meet one of the following criteria:

  • Currently enrolled at UC Davis during Spring 2008 Quarter, or
  • On an approved Planned Educational Leave Program (PELP) during Spring 2008 Quarter, or
  • Admitted for Fall 2008, or
  • Have not filed to graduate for Spring 2008.

In addition to completing the FAFSA, students must also complete and submit to the Financial Aid Office the Summer Sessions 2007 Financial Aid Application. The application will be available online at financialaid.ucdavis.edu beginning May 5, 2008. You must be enrolled in the session for which you are applying for aid.

Summer Financial Aid Estimator

The Financial Aid Office developed the following web tool to help undergraduates with summer budget planning for the 2008 Summer Sessions. You can estimate your financial aid for UC Davis Summer Sessions 1 and 2 and UC Davis Summer Session Abroad using this online Summer Estimator.

You will be able to enter any combination of units and sessions and receive an estimate of summer financial aid. Our system will examine your financial aid for the year and show you our closest approximation of your funding options for the summer. Please note this is an estimate only and may not reflect your actual package.

Students receiving Financial Aid for Summer Sessions are reminded of the following program requirements to retain financial aid eligibility for Summer Sessions:

Maintaining Financial Aid Eligibility

  • Unit Requirement: To be eligible for summer aid, you must be enrolled in a minimum of six units per session of enrollment. Aid will be subject to cancellation if you drop below six units.
  • Cancellation/Withdrawal: If you receive financial aid and subsequently cancel or withdraw from the University, you may be required to return financial aid funds received. Return of Title IV funds received is based on published schedules and the date you officially withdrew or canceled your registration. If you cancel or withdraw, notify the Financial Aid Office immediately.
  • Change in Enrollment: If you change your summer enrollment status, notify the Financial Aid Office immediately.

Attention Students attending other UC campuses:

Your financial aid will disburse to your UC Davis student account after the Financial Aid Office verifies your enrollment. You will have to use the balance of your financial aid funds to pay off summer charges at the school where you will be enrolled (fees will not be paid automatically). The Financial Aid Office will verify your progress at the end of the summer. You may be billed if you complete less than 6 units or if you attend a different session than what was listed on your Summer Financial Aid Application.

NOTE: Summer aid will pay off any charges that exist on your student account before your financial aid remainder check is issued.

Attention Students Going Abroad:

Please refer to the Summer Sessions Web site for information on courses, registration, calendar, and other information.

The Summer Financial Aid application will be available on May 5, 2008. You must be enrolled in summer sessions before you apply.
