 Monday, January 30: Congress on Campus - Financial Aid Workshop, 1:00–3:00 p.m.
Congressman John Garamendi and staff from Congressman Mike Thompson’s office invite UC Davis students to this informative workshop to learn how new federal laws and regulations are improving student aid. A recent executive order by President Obama and new laws passed by Congress in 2009 will make a big difference for many UC Davis students. University, state and federal government agencies will be on hand to offer assistance. If you anticipate taking out federal loans or receiving Pell Grants, or have an interest in a career in public service (like teaching, nursing, or serving in the military), you won’t want to miss out on this workshop. Students will save more than $60 billion over the next 10 years because of these reforms. Learn more by attending this free workshop hosted by your local members of Congress.
