About eFAN
Your eFAN (electronic Financial Aid Notice) includes your budget breakdown for the cost of attending UC Davis, a listing of financial aid for which you are eligible, and information about additional documentation required by the Financial Aid Office before your funds will pay to your account. The following is a brief description of the eFAN by section:
- Heading: Current news about your awards.
- Bullet Items to the Left: Details about the types of awards and how your need was determined. Review and agree to the Statement of Understanding before accepting financial aid awards.
- Name, Academic Year, and Date: Review your name, academic year, and date to ensure you are reviewing the correct information.
- Cost of Attendance (COA): This is your student expense budget for the academic year.
- Contributions: Includes the self-help expectation.
- Total Resources: Shows additional reported resources (e.g., scholarships, sponsored fee awards).
- Financial Aid Eligibility: COA minus Contributions and Resources equals Financial Aid Eligibility (i.e., Need).
- Your Financial Aid Awards: Lists the types of aid and provides a breakdown of the term (quarter or semester) amounts. Click on the fund type for more information about the fund. Will Pay/Will Not Pay messages mean additional information may be required before the funds will pay to your account. Read the pop-up window for details.
- Requirements: Additional information may be needed to process or disburse your financial aid. Read the requirements to see what may be needed from you.
A green, smiling face is a completed requirement (no further action required).
A yellow, smiling face means that we have received the required documents but they are not yet processed.
A red, frowning face is an unsatisfied requirement (further action is required to satisfy this requirement).
- Holds: Financial Aid hold messages will appear here.
- Footnotes: Look for timely reminders in this space.
- Continue: Proceed to the next step.
