Congratulations!
We hope the following information will help you obtain the financial aid funding you need to help you achieve your educational goals. The Financial Aid Office will coordinate all of the aid you receive from various sources to prepare a package of aid that meets your needs. A student contribution is expected as part of the federal formula, and other scholarships and resources you bring or are awarded at UC Davis are also included as part of your aid.
Be sure to keep the Graduate Financial Aid Office informed of any additional resources or awards received from your academic programs (e.g., fellowships, assistantships, research positions, departmental awards).
- If you haven't already done so, obtain a Personal Identification Number at pin.ed.gov and complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at fafsa.ed.gov. Include school code: 001313 to have the information sent to UC Davis. When you complete the FAFSA you're applying for federal loans and Work-Study funding.
- Contact your academic department to see if you are eligible for fellowships, assistantships, research positions, departmental awards, Block Grants, Stipends, and/or Work-Study funding.
- Apply for fellowships by January 15 through the Office of Graduate Studies.

Coursework Only Status
Coursework Only is an admission status for students who are enrolled in coursework and paying fees, but have not been admitted into a degree-bearing program. This status is also referred to as Non-Matriculation and Limited Status. Students may be in Coursework Only status for no more than 3 consecutive quarters and only once during their educational history. Students may only apply for alternative loans while in this status. To obtain more information about Coursework Only Admission status, visit the Graduate Studies Web site to learn more about "Non-degree Status": gradstudies.ucdavis.edu/prospective/admissions.html
