Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress Standards

Federal regulations require that the UC Davis Financial Aid Office establish standards for Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) that measure a student’s progress toward degree completion using both qualitative and quantitative measures. New federal legislation that went into effect on July 1, 2011 strengthens these requirements.

To remain eligible for financial aid, students must now meet the new SAP requirements outlined in our Financial Aid Standards for Satisfactory Academic Progress Guide.

It is important to note that Financial Aid SAP standards noted in this guide are separate and distinct from Academic Policies for your Graduate Program or as outlined by the Office of Graduate Studies.

Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal Board Schedule

The Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Appeal Board meets every Thursday during Fall Quarter. The SAP Appeal Board will make every effort to review the appeals submitted each week; however, when the volume of appeals increases, not all appeals can be reviewed the same week they are submitted. Students will be notified either by mail or by e-mail of the SAP Appeal Board's decision. To be eligible for review, appeals must be received by the deadlines outlined below:
