Graduate Students
The Financial Aid Office maintains, and monitors compliance for, our Satisfactory Academic Progress policy. In order to maintain eligibility for Financial Aid, full-time graduate academic students are required to be enrolled and complete an average of 12 units each academic quarter, or 36 units for an academic year. Part-time students are required to enroll and complete an average of 6 units per academic quarter, or 18 units for an academic year. This part-time policy also applies to students enrolled in the Working Professionals MBA Program.
Students who are enrolled for less than 6 units in an academic quarter are not eligible for financial aid. This includes Work Study, Direct Loans, Perkins Loans, GPLUS Loans, and campus expansion grant funds. The Financial Aid Office will receive enrollment information prior to the deadline for adding/dropping classes for students enrolled in less than 6 units. The Financial Aid Office will email students at their UC Davis e-mail address, that failure to be enrolled in 6 units will cause the student to lose any disbursed financial aid for that quarter. Once the add/drop date has passed, the Financial Aid Office will pull back all financial aid disbursed for the quarter in which the student is not enrolled for at least 6 units.
