We understand that not all students fit the typical undergraduate profile: single, living on- or off-campus with roommates to share the rent. Many undergraduates have dependent children to support, and who need assistance with Child Care expenses. The Financial Aid Office offers limited grants and loans to help meet those costs.
To request financial aid for child care expenses, complete the Child Care Funding Request Form available on our forms web page at financialaid.ucdavis.edu. The form is available in September to allow you to make Child Care arrangements before you start school in the fall. The form asks for information about other child care subsidies you may be receiving or expect to receive during the year. Because the aid we offer is limited grant and loan funding, the Financial Aid Office will cross-reference the subsidies you receive from other agencies and award the appropriate amount for your budget.
If you have not yet done so, we encourage you to explore these alternatives before requesting Financial Aid for Child Care expenses:
- City of Davis Child Care Service
- UC Davis Child Care Information
- UC Davis Center for Child and Family Studies
- La Rue Park Child Development Center
- Russell Park Child Development Center
The Child Care Funding Request Form requires your Child Care Provider to also complete sections of the form, so you may want to choose a provider before completing the form. When you finish, be sure to obtain the required signatures and attach any additional documentation requested before submitting the form to the Financial Aid Office.
