Financial Aid for Students Participating in a Study Abroad Program

Students at UC Davis can choose to study abroad through one of the programs administered through the UC Davis Study Abroad office. Students can also study abroad through an Independent Study Abroad program. To learn how financial aid works for each of these programs, please see the summary information below, and refer to the appropriate links for additional details. Please carefully read the information provided, as it will help you better understand how financial aid works for the program you have selected. Please note that you must file the FAFSA or a Dream Act Application to receive Financial Aid. You can also refer to the UC Davis Study Abroad website for general information on funding a study abroad experience.

Financial aid and course pre-approval are not available for non-UC Summer programs. If you need to know in advance about coursework transferability and want financial aid, you should participate in a UC program in the summertime or a non-UC study abroad program during the regular academic year of Fall/Winter/Spring
