Gates Cambridge winners receive full university tuition and fees along with a maintenance allowance, airfare at the beginning and end of the program, funding to present at a conference, and funding to support children for up to 3 years of study at University of Cambridge, England.
- Students from any country outside of the United Kingdom can apply
- Must apply and be accepted into a Master’s or Ph.D. program at the University of Cambridge, England.
Applicants should have demonstrated outstanding intellectual ability and leadership potential along with a commitment to improving the lives of others. Applicants should show a strong fit between his/her qualifications and aspirations and the selected program at University of Cambridge to which he/she is applying.
Applicants need to be admissible to the University of Cambridge, England and should have a clear sense of why the studies need to take place at the University of Cambridge and what the University would stand to gain from his/her presence. Applicants need to have 3 outstanding references, 1 of which must be personal.
The Gates Cambridge Scholarship is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and candidates are advised to become familiar with the values of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation as these values will drive successful candidates.
Applicants for the Gates Cambridge Scholarship are not required to be nominated by UC Davis, but are strongly encouraged to work with our office to strengthen their applications prior to final submission. Applicants are required to apply to the University of Cambridge and indicate on their application that they wish to apply for the Gates Cambridge Scholarship.
