Computer Purchase

In keeping with the UC Davis Computer Ownership guidelines (computerownership.ucdavis.edu), the Financial Aid Office can provide eligible undergraduates receiving need-based financial aid with up to $1,900 dollars - once during their academic careers - to be used to purchase a computer. Please complete the Computer Purchase Form, and submit it to the Financial Aid Office with an official price estimate from the vendor from whom you will be purchasing your computer.

Instructions:

  • Complete the Computer Loan Application form and submit it to the Financial Aid Office with an official price estimate from the vendor from whom you will be purchasing your computer.
  • Request the computer loan before purchasing the computer. Computers must be purchased during the academic year (September - May). Based on the estimate, the Financial Aid Office will increase your budget by up to $1,900 and award a loan to be used to purchase the computer.
  • Funds are disbursed directly to your student account. Any outstanding balances or debt owed to the University at the time the computer loan is issued will be subtracted from the loan. If there is a remainder, a check or direct deposit will be issued.
