  • The Department of Education has announced they will send information from the 2024-25 FAFSA to schools in mid-March. This may result in a delay in financial aid packaging and offers for the 2024-25 academic year. While awaiting your financial aid offer, we encourage you to utilize the UC Davis Financial Aid Estimator to estimate your potential aid.

Children of Fallen Heroes Scholarship

What is the Children of Fallen Heroes Scholarship?

Starting with the 2018-19 award year, a Pell-eligible student whose parent or guardian died in the line of duty while performing as a public safety officer is eligible to receive a maximum Pell Grant for the year in which the determination of eligibility is made.

To qualify for this scholarship, a student must be Pell-eligible and have a Pell-eligible Student Aid Index (SAI), and be less than 24 years of age or enrolled at an institution of higher education at the time of his or her parent’s or guardian’s death.

A student continues to be eligible for the scholarship in subsequent award years, as long as they have a Pell-eligible SAI and remain an eligible student.

If you qualify for this Scholarship, please contact our office.
