Summer billing and disbursement

Billing and disbursement

Billing information

Before the payment deadline, all authorized aid for summer will be credited to the student's UC Davis account. This will appear as “Estimated Financial Aid” and will apply toward the balance due. Current balances and previous billing statements can be viewed online at Aggie Bill.

  • Students enrolled in less than six (6) units during the summer are responsible for paying summer fees by their applicable session deadline.
  • Students combining units between Session 1, Special Session, and Session 2 must meet the 6-unit requirement
    • Aid will be disbursed during the session in which the student reaches the 6-unit requirement.
  • If there is a credit balance after the estimated financial aid is posted, the student may receive a refund according to the disbursement schedule below.

Paying tuition and fees/deadlines

For each session, before the payment deadline, any authorized aid listed on Aggie Bill will be credited to the student's UC Davis account to pay any outstanding charges for that session.

  • Charges include tuition and fees, on-campus housing, etc.
  • If there is a balance due after the Estimated Financial Aid has been posted, the student is responsible for paying the amount before the payment deadline.
  • If attending both Session 1 and Session 2, the estimated/authorized financial aid will be applied to both sessions.
  • If fees are not paid by the applicable fee deadline, students may be dropped from courses.

Disbursement dates (excludes Advantage Grant)

Financial aid will be credited to students' accounts based on the number of units and session(s) in which they are enrolled.

  • Waitlisted units DO NOT count towards disbursement.

Financial aid will be credited to students' accounts on the following dates:

  • Session 1/Special Session: June 12, 2026
  • Session 2: July 24, 2026

Students who are enrolled in 10 or more units and complete academic participation by the applicable deadline will receive a separate disbursement for the Summer Advantage Grant at a later date. Please visit Important Summer Dates for details.

Summer Advantage Grant disbursement

  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 10 units
  • Must have a Free Application for Federal Student Aid, the FAFSA, or California Dream Act Application, the CADAA, on file
    • Must have demonstrated financial need as determined by the FAFSA/CADAA
  • Considered a resident or eligible non-resident by the Office of the University Registrar
  • Students are only eligible for one disbursement of the Summer Advantage Grant, up to $1,100
  • If a student is offered a Summer Advantage Grant, the grant will only disburse if the student completes academic participation by the deadline and is enrolled in at least 10 units. Failure to meet these requirements will cause the grant to be canceled.

Please visit Important Summer Dates for details.

Important: Students will be emailed regarding Academic Participation during the summer. It is the student's responsibility to participate in all registered courses at the beginning of each session.

Summer refunds

Students are responsible for managing any refunds received and expenses incurred while attending summer session(s). A student’s summer refund may be adjusted if the student has a prior balance on their account.

Direct deposit is the preferred method for UC Davis students to receive their financial aid refunds.

The initial summer refund will not include the Summer Advantage Grant, as this grant is disbursed later in the summer.

For general refund dates for your summer session, please visit Important Summer Dates.
