Relief Funding • Support Updates
Financial Aid and Scholarships sent undergraduate and graduate/professional students the following message:
The Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) was signed into law in December 2020. The Act provides $22.7 billion in aid to address higher education challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic. Of this amount, $20.2 billion is allocated directly to colleges and universities. Financial Aid and Scholarships will begin disbursing funds on April 9, 2021, to eligible students.
Unlike the CARES Act, the bill stipulates that CRRSAA funding must be prioritized to students with “exceptional need.”
Eligibility for CRRSAA funding for graduate and professional students is based on need and requires spring 2021 enrollment. Graduate and professional students are encouraged to complete an affidavit confirming eligibility by June 10, 2021, to be considered for aid. Grants will be awarded as eligibility is established.
Eligibility for CRRSAA funding for undergraduate students is based on need as determined by the 2020-21 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) currently on file. Eligible students must also be enrolled in the spring 2021 term.
To expedite receipt of funds, we recommend students sign up for direct deposit. Please also ensure your preferred mailing address is up to date.
