Summer Abroad Financial Aid

Summer Abroad and Summer Abroad Internships are UC Davis summer study abroad programs, led by UC Davis faculty during the summer months. UC Davis Summer Abroad and Summer Abroad Internships programs are open to all UC students. Important notes about summer financial aid:

  • Financial aid for summer sessions differs from academic year aid.

Summer AbroadSummer Abroad Internships

UC Davis Students

If you are a continuing student, your registration serves as your application for summer financial aid. UC Davis students looking to enroll in Summer Abroad/Internships must follow these initial steps to apply for summer financial aid:

  • File a 2024-25 FAFSA or a 2024-25 CADAA by June 21, 2025.
  • The Department of Education will close the applications on June 30, 2025.
  • Complete all 2024-25 verification requirements. 
    • Requirements can be viewed in your MyAwards.
  • Ensure your residency has been established by the Office of the University Registrar as either Resident or Nonresident.
    • Nonresident students have limited financial aid eligibility.
  • Meet campus basic requirements such as SAP (Satisfactory Academic Progress) standards, not be in Default or Overpayment.
  • Have not graduated or declared to graduate in spring 2025 or earlier
  • You must also meet one of the following criteria:
    • Established as an active degree-seeking student for the 2025 spring quarter 
    • On an approved PELP for the 2025 spring quarter 
  • Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units to be considered for financial aid. 
Non-UC Davis Students

Students attending any of the UC campuses may apply to participate in a UC Davis Summer Abroad or Summer Internships Abroad program. During the summer, your home campus will be responsible for offering the student a financial aid package, verifying the cost of your program and your enrollment with UC Davis. Please contact your home campus Financial Aid and Scholarships Office for more information.
