Gates Cambridge Scholarship

DATES AND DEADLINES

Award

Gates Cambridge winners receive full university tuition and fees, a maintenance allowance, and airfare at the beginning and end of the program. Winners also receive funding to present at a conference and child support for up to three (3) years of study at University of Cambridge, England.

Eligibility

  1. Students from any country outside of the United Kingdom can apply
  2. Must apply and be accepted into a Master’s or Ph.D. program at the University of Cambridge, England

Candidate Profile

Applicants should have demonstrated outstanding intellectual ability and leadership potential along with a commitment to improving the lives of others. Applicants should show a strong fit between qualifications and aspirations and the selected program at University of Cambridge. 

Applicants must be admissible to the University of Cambridge, England. Applicants should have a clear sense of why the studies need to take place at the University of Cambridge and what the University would gain from their presence. Applicants need to have three (3) outstanding references, one of which must be personal.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation funds the Gates Cambridge Scholarship, and candidates are advised to become familiar with the values of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, as these values will drive successful candidates.

Campus Procedure

Applicants must apply for admission to the University of Cambridge and indicate on their application that they wish to be considered for Gates Cambridge funding.  Applicants will be required to submit additional documents along with the university application to be considered for Gates Cambridge funding.  More information is available here.  Applicants are strongly advised to work with Prestigious Scholarship Advisor Scott Palmer and should submit documents for review one month prior to the application deadline.
