Students studying in the MU

Important Updates

  • The priority filing date for the 2024-25 FAFSA and CADAA has been extended to May 2, 2024. Visit Apply for Financial Aid for details.
  • The Department of Education has announced they will send information from the 2024-25 FAFSA to schools in mid-March. This may result in a delay in financial aid packaging and offers for the 2024-25 academic year. While awaiting your financial aid offer, we encourage you to utilize the UC Davis Financial Aid Estimator to estimate your potential aid.

The UC Davis Cost of Attendance is an estimated figure used to determine financial aid eligibility. It includes tuition and fees as well as average amounts for standard expenses such as books, supplies, room, board, and other living expenses for three-quarters of study. Keep in mind, your actual costs may differ. Eligible expenses must occur between mid-September through mid-June. Our office reserves the right to exercise professional judgment to deny requests that are not considered direct educational expenses.

Tuition Stability Plan

Beginning in fall 2022, the University of California will keep systemwide student tuition and fees at a flat rate for up to six years beyond a student's first enrolled term. This plan will provide cost predictability for students, as systemwide tuition and fees represent a considerable percentage of the total cost of attendance. Campus-based fees and other costs, such as housing and health insurance, are not included in this plan and are subject to change each year.  Learn more about UC’s Tuition Stability Plan.

  • Footnote [1]
  • UC Tuition remains flat for up to six years under the Tuition Stability Plan. For non-residents, this includes systemwide tuition (the cost of classes for CA resident students), supplemental nonresident tuition, and student services fees for areas such as student government, student public transportation, and building improvements. These fees are set regardless of the method of instruction and will not be refunded in the event instruction occurs remotely for any art of the academic year. For a full breakdown of tuition and fee amounts, please visit the UC Davis Tuition and Fees website.
  • Footnote [2]
  • To be considered for an "On-Campus" budget, students must be in a Residence Hall or an apartment managed by UC Davis Student Housing. Students are not eligible for an "On-Campus" budget if they do not have an official UC Davis Student Housing Contract. Residing in housing located on campus and/or opting to purchase a meal plan (which is available to all students) does not meet the criteria for an "On-Campus" budget. For estimates of off-campus housing costs near the UC Davis campus please review Housing Costs Near UC Campuses. For details, visit the Housing and Food section of the Cost of Attendance Definitions.
  • Footnote [3]
  • The Health Insurance budget component is based on an estimated figure. Accordingly, the final approved rate may differ from the amount shown. For the most recent Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) fee, please visit Student Health and Counseling Services. This mandatory fee can be waived, as long as the student can show proof of adequate private health insurance. For more information on the SHIP waiver, please visit UC SHIP Waiver Information. Please note, financial aid will not cover the health insurance budget component for dependent students who elect to waive out.
Figures for tuition and fees represent currently approved or proposed amounts and may not be final. Actual tuition and fees are subject to change by the University of California as determined to be necessary or appropriate. Final approved tuition and fee levels may differ from the amounts presented. Some or all instruction for all or part of the academic year may be delivered remotely. Tuition and fees have been set regardless of the method of instruction and will not be refunded in the event instruction occurs remotely for any part of the academic year.
