- I was admitted to UC Davis for the fall but still cannot see how much financial aid I will be receiving. When will I be able to see my financial aid for my freshman year?
- If you have been admitted but cannot see your financial aid offer, please confirm that the UC Davis school code (001313) is reflected in your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application (CADAA). You can send us a FAFSA Submission Summary from your FAFSA or Student Aid Report (SAR) from your CADAA through Contact An Expert.
- The information submitted on my Free Application of Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application (CADAA) no longer reflects my parent(s)’ expected income for the year. Can Financial Aid and Scholarships consider adjusting my Student Aid Index due to the loss of a job, medical costs, or the death of one of my parents?
- If your FAFSA or CADAA no longer accurately reflects the current year's income, UC Davis Financial Aid and Scholarships will consider revisions to financial aid for students who have had significant changes to family financial conditions due to unusual circumstances such as job loss, loss of a family member or medical expenses.
The SAI Calculation Review will be available for each upcoming academic year on July 1. To see what your projected aid may look like, use the Financial Aid Estimator accounting for the changes. - Once I have accepted my admission to UC Davis, when can I start applying for Federal Loans? (i.e., Federal Subsidized, Federal Unsubsidized, or Federal Parent Plus Loan)
- Please wait to accept and complete any loan requirements on or after July 22, 2024. Loan Agreement for a Subsidized/Unsubsidized Loan (MPN) and Entrance Counseling files will be uploaded starting July 25, 2024. Please also see FAQs - Loans.
- When will I know if I am eligible for scholarships?
- The Undergraduate and Prestigious Scholarships Office will determine your eligibility based on your UC Application. If eligible, scholarships will be posted to your account during the summer.
- I see incomplete requirements on MyAwards. What should I do?
- If you see a message in your MyAwards stating you have “Incomplete Requirements” due to “Verification Requirements”, you can create an account at StudentForms. Note: To complete requirements you must wait at least three (3) business days after you submit your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) to create an account.
- I am an international student, what will my cost be, and am I eligible to receive financial assistance?
- Refer to our website for more details on international undergraduate financial aid.

- Do I need to complete two financial aid applications (FAFSA or California Dream Act Application)?
- Yes, to receive summer aid please complete the 2023-24 Free Application for Federal Financial Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application (CADAA). For fall 2024 aid please complete the 2024-25 FAFSA or CADAA.
- I was selected for verification. What does this mean and where can I find more information?
- If selected for verification, Financial Aid and Scholarships may request additional documents to verify the information submitted on your FAFSA or CADAA. We cannot disburse financial aid until all verification and documentation requirements are complete. You can find the requested documents on the Requirements tab of your MyAwards. Once there, click on each requirement and you will be directed to where you can complete the requirement.
For academic year verification for 2024-25, you will need to provide financial information for 2022. Please be sure to complete all incomplete requirements in your MyAwards to prevent a delay in your financial aid disbursement. - I heard my summer fees will be covered by financial aid, is this true?
- Yes. All summer STEP fees will be covered by a combination of University Grant, STEP grant, or Pell grant funding. The type of grants you will receive will be determined by your eligibility; however, your STEP program fees will be fully covered. Please be sure to complete all incomplete summer requirements in your 2023-24 MyAwards to prevent a delay in your summer financial aid disbursement.
- What is Academic Participation and do I need to complete it?
- Each term, all students are required to acknowledge the Code of Academic Conduct for each registered course. Beginning on the first day of instruction my.ucdavis.edu will notify students online and through email to participate in keeping UC Davis a fair and honest community. This must be completed within the first two weeks of the session/quarter to keep your financial aid eligibility. If it is not completed, your financial aid will be canceled.
