The Golden State Teacher Grant program (GSTG) offers up to $20,000 to students currently enrolled in a professional preparation program approved by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) and working towards earning their preliminary teaching or pupil personnel services credential.

To be eligible, students must:

• Complete their program and obtain their credential within six years from the date their initial GSTG payments are mailed to their institution.
• Commit to work at either a priority school or a California preschool program for four years within eight years of completing their program.
   

2024-25 GSTG Application Now Open
The Commission will continue to accept applications through April 1, 2025, or until all funds have been disbursed, whichever comes first. 

2023-24 GSTG Application Now Closed
The Commission closed the 2023-24 GSTG application on April 2, 2024.
