Recipients will receive $15,000 to fund a public service project. Up to $7,000 may be given to the recipient as a scholarship to cover educational expenses, with the remaining amount funding the service project expenses.

- Top 1/3 of class ranking
Applicants should be outstanding leaders with strong communication skills and a demonstrated interest in public service that displays a desire to “make a difference” in local, regional, national, or international communities.
The application requires an innovative, original, public service proposal. Applicants will need to dedicate time and effort to submit a well-researched and compelling proposal.
UC Davis may nominate up to three proposals to the Strauss Foundation. To be considered, candidates need to submit the application materials outlined on the Strauss webpage to the Undergraduate and Prestigious Scholarships Office at firstname.lastname@example.org by the campus application deadline. Campus interviews will occur after the campus application deadline to select the nominated proposals.
