UC Davis Students Attending Another UC

UC Davis students have the opportunity to attend summer courses at other UC campuses. Students who plan on attending another UC are responsible to review the following topics:

Eligibility

  • File a 2023-24 FAFSA or a 2023-24 CADAA by June 21, 2024.
  • The Department of Education will close the applications on June 30, 2024.
  • Complete all 2023-24 verification requirements.
    • Requirements can be viewed in your MyAwards.
  • Ensure your residency has been established by the Office of the University Registrar as either Resident or Nonresident
    • Nonresident students have limited financial aid eligibility.
  • Meet campus basic requirements such as SAP (Satisfactory Academic Progress) standards, not be in Default or Overpayment.
  • Have not graduated or declared to graduate in 2024 spring or earlier
  • You must also meet one of the following criteria:
    • Established as an active degree-seeking student for the 2024 spring quarter
    • On an approved PELP for the 2024 spring quarter
  • Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units for the summer term to be considered for financial aid.
    • This can include waitlisted courses.

Once you’ve met the standard eligibility requirements, you can proceed below.

Application and Financial Aid Packaging

  • Students must register for their desired courses at the other UC campus and include their UC Davis student ID on their application.
    • This allows our office to review enrollment and package financial aid.
  • Students that are ONLY attending another UC campus can submit a Summer Financial Aid Application online (available in May).
    • If attending UC Davis and another UC campus during the summer, you will need to submit a paper Summer Financial Aid Application (available in May) through Contact An Expert.
  • Once a student’s enrollment is verified by our office, the student will be notified of their financial aid package via their UC Davis email.
    • Summer financial aid packaging begins mid to late May.
  • Our office will verify your progress throughout the summer.
    • If a student makes changes to enrollment (withdrawing, attending a different UC, or reducing/increasing units), the student MUST submit a Summer Change in Aid form (available in May) to inform our office of the changes.

Disbursement and Refunds

  • Summer financial aid pays towards any charges on the student's UC Davis account before a refund is issued.

  • If a student is attending only another UC campus, UC Davis Financial Aid and Scholarships will not disburse directly to the student's account at the other UC campus. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure fees incurred at the other UC campus are paid.

  • If attending both UC Davis and another UC campus, the student may receive the entire full refund during their first session of enrollment.
    • The student is responsible for managing their refunds and paying all summer dues.
    • Please note, waitlisted units do not count toward disbursement.

  • If the student’s refund is not available before fees are due at the other UC campus, the student should contact the Summer Sessions office at the other UC to inquire about a payment arrangement.

Academic Participation

  • UC Davis students attending other UCs are required to acknowledge the Code of Academic Conduct and report academic activity for each course.
    • Students will be emailed an Evidence of Academic Activity and Code of Conduct form at the beginning of each session to be completed and returned to our office.
    • Failure to report academic activity for enrolled courses by the applicable deadline will result in a bill for the term.
  • All communications will be sent to the student via their UC Davis email address.
